Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Description: Full Time Nights Position Purpose: The Behavioral Health Nurse provides assessments, support and care coordination across the behavioral health care continuum for patients struggling with mental illness as well as individuals and families seeking resources or information about treatment options. The Behavioral Health Nurse is an integral member of Behavioral Health Service Line and works collaboratively with the treatment team members and providers in the various inpatient and outpatient programs offered at Mercy. The Behavioral Health Nurse works closely with community partners to ensure successful transition of care and promotes education to the public on Behavioral Health-related topics through various forums. The Behavioral Health Nurse is responsible for carrying out duties as a health coach as well as utilizing skills as a psychiatric nurse in various care areas when needed, including but not limited to the Intensive Outpatient Program and Psych Triage in the Emergency Department.
