Claims Litigation Attorney This position acts as counsel to policyholders and the Exchange in all legal proceedings, including trial and arbitration. It provides legal representation of policyholders to protect their interests in defense of personal injury and/or property damage lawsuits. This includes defense of complex litigated homeowners, personal injury and property damage lawsuits with moderate to occasionally higher exposure. This position provides assistance on the handling of other attorneys' files, which may include providing guidance to lesser experienced attorneys. Responsibilities: Analyzes cases to determine all pertinent facts and develop appropriate legal theories/strategies in the defense of lawsuits. Develops and implements appropriate discovery plans and motions, as needed. This includes propounding and answering written discovery, subpoenas, and review of records, taking depositions, drafting and opposing motions, retaining and conferring with experts, and obtaining witness statements.
