Laboratory Technician - Temporary (Sansam Lab)

Position Overview and Responsibilities The Sansam Lab is seeking a temporary Laboratory Technician to support ongoing research projects. The technician will perform routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and report results. The technician will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions and training on new assignments. The technician will receive regular supervision for most assignments. Expected to perform the following duties after appropriate training: - Supports team to achieve lab goals established by the supervisor. Contribute to the completion of assigned tasks through quality and efficiency of own work. - Performs routine procedures according to standardized protocols that may include, but not limited, to DNA /RNA /protein extraction, maintaining cell cultures, preparing solutions and reagents, handling research animals, etc. using standard techniques and/or complex lab equipment. - Uses basic analytical skills including literature and database searches to solve task-related problems. - Keeps supervisor and co-workers informed of problems with the lab procedures not effectively working or if a mistake has been made. - Ma...
