Position Title Referral Coordinator-Neurology Nephrology Liberty Hospital Doctors Building: Position Summary / Career Interest: The referral coordinator is responsible for ensuring that referrals and the work queue are worked and addressed in accordance with Health System standards, including reporting any issues with incoming referrals to the appropriate person, gathering outside records, and coordinating required testing. Works with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for referrals and various procedures. Coordination with referring physician's office, patient, and other departments as needed to get appointment scheduled appropriately. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions: - Responsible for working the referral/order work queues. Work cooperatively with providers and clinical team to obtain, assess, and respond to external/internal referrals. Schedules appointments for various patient procedures, including precertification for appointments/procedures. - Maintain patient confidentiality.
