Job description

Position Summary The Truck Mechanic Apprentice works alongside a knowledgeable Casella Waste Truck Mechanic to learn and further develop skills. The Apprentice provides maintenance, repairs vehicles and equipment, and mainly focuses on preventative maintenance and maintaining the safety of all vehicles and equipment. The Truck Mechanic Apprentice will continue in this role until they compete all training requirements. The starting pay range for this position is $23-$25 per hour. Key Responsibilities: - Gains an understanding of basic parts, processes, and maintenance techniques as instructed by knowledgeable technicians. - Learns how to complete all work orders, perform maintenance tasks based on driver pre and post trip inspections in a timely manner. - Performs all job duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulations to ensure safe operations. - Assists senior level technicians in performing preventative Maintenance Inspections. - Aids senior level technicians on larger projects. - Learns how to thoroughly identify defects requiring correction, which would affect the availability of the equipment and the safety of the equipment operator. - Adjusts brakes, clutche...
