April - October 27 weeks Location: Lockwood Dam in Waterville, ME Responsibilities: - Assist with monitoring of upstream and downstream fish passages at Brookfield owned hydroelectric dams on rivers in Maine consistent with established Operation and Maintenance plans. - Daily operation of fish lifts to capture, sort, and count various species of migratory and resident fish. - Migratory fish species will be transported a short distance upstream in tanks hauled by truck and trailer. - Monitor eelways for proper water flow, remove debris, change batteries for water systems, etc. - Perform quality control checks to ensure that all data collected are accurate and complete. - Assist with fish passage studies. - This position will often require working longer than 8 hours per day. - This position will require working weekends and holidays. Required Skills: Pay: $18/hr - Must be highly motivated and have the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others. - Must be able to learn identify a variety of migratory and resident fish species. - Ability to keep data organized and error free. - Must have good time management skills. - Must be able to identify safety and environme...
