HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Operations Team as a Manager, Plant III. Summary: The Manager, Plant III is a highly specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker Internationals overall business performance through the overall operation of the plant; ensuring safety, production, quality and capital efficiency goals are met. This role is responsible for having adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, etc). Responsibilities: - Developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing plans and KPIs to ensure the plant operates at optimum levels with efficient utilization of people, equipment, and resources; directing the resolution of operational, manufacturing, maintenance and quality issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays - Minimizing rework, scrap and material losses; continuously seeks and implements cost and waste reduction initiatives; utilizing tools like 5S, Lean and 6Sigma - Ensuring KPIs and targets are developed for departmental activities - Managing plant safety program(s) in a manner that supports a positive safety culture - Reviewing a...
