GS Dispatcher Coordinator

Job description

Trains as a Transporter/Escort for the first two weeks and will assume a Transporter/Escort role periodically to remain abreast of environmental and situational changes. Utilizes information received from Allied Health staff and other departments to ensure efficient operations as it relates to patient movement and logistics services. Respond to telephone requests and assigns staff to perform requests while monitoring activities. The Dispatcher assists all callers in a polite, articulate, professional, and clear manner. Prioritize requests to ensure timely response based on departmental policies and procedures. Utilizes problem solving skills and shows initiative to ensure that service goals are met. The Dispatcher communicates daily to the manager and supervisor regarding employee day-to-day operational issues that may affect performance, work assignments, etc. Inform management of activity level when additional support is needed and assists with resolution of those issues. Evaluates quality and timeliness of work performed by staff with excellent time management skills, task prioritization, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment are required.
