About Asarco Grupo Mexico ASARCO LLC is a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest Copper producers, Grupo Mexico, which ranks third in the United States in Copper production. ASARCO LLC is a fully integrated miner, smelter, and refinery of copper in the United States with over 2,800 employees spanning across five sites in Arizona and Texas. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management at ASARCO & Grupo Mexico. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Functions related to plant facilities and maintenance support. This includes specifying electrical equipment, supervising procurement, installation and giving support to maintenance functions. - Areas of concern are motor/starter/switchgear selection, PLCs, VFDs and training/troubleshooting skills. - Interact with vendors and contractors on projects and material selection. - Report to...
