Department/Unit: Adult Cardiac Cath Lab Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $64,972.00 - $97,458.00 Medical Imaging Technologists are allied health professionals who perform diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the Technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient. The Medical Imaging Technologist is actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process. S/he manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist. S/he is responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure. S/he has an in-depth understanding of the procedure and anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist. S/he is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
