Job Title: Surgery Manager Department: Spay/Neuter: Reports To: Director of Veterinary Medicine FLSA Status: Exempt: Pay Rate: $65,000 Annually: Summary: The Surgery Manager is responsible for managing the surgery department including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management of surgery veterinary technicians; maintaining administrative duties of the department; ensuring surgical flow for pets within the shelter; ensuring surgical capacity is maximized for surgery team; and ensuring efficiency and flow of daily operation in the surgery department. This position is responsible for achieving League goals and meeting financial responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Medical Care & Surgery Flow Management: Maintain expectations regarding daily surgical flow: - Monitor lists for pets needing spay/neuter, other surgeries, and dentals to ensure timely surgery turnaround times. - Determine which days to schedule specific types of surgeries while ensuring shelter, foster, and public surgeries are completed in a timely manner. ?? - Notify director of any concerns moving an animal through surgery. - Proactivel...
