Description Community Care Licensing Officers play a vital role in protecting the health and safety of vulnerable individuals, including children, seniors, and those with disabilities. Under this role, responsibilities include conducting inspections at various care facilities, such as long-term care, substance use, and acquired injury facilities. JOB SUMMARY: Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, performs inspectional, regulatory and advisor work involving the licensing and inspection of child day care and residential care facilities within Vancouver Coastal Health. Inspects and assesses new and existing community care facilities and programs to ensure compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and regulations; issues community care licenses, investigates complaints of contraventions to the Act and regulations; investigates reportable incidents in facilities.
