Classification Title: HVAC Mechanic, Entry-level Classification Minimum Requirements: Works in Facilities Services at the University of Florida (UF). Support and assist with repairing, replacing, and preventively maintaining heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment; refrigeration equipment; and cold rooms. Provide support services to other trades. May participate in the Facilities Services FaST Path Program. He/she begins the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) CORE. May participate in the NCCER HVAC Level 1 curriculum. Job Description: Work with higher-level HVAC Mechanics. Perform general preventative and minor corrective maintenance with oversight of a high level HVAC technician which includes electronic and mechanical components; installation of HVAC ductwork, including flexible tubing and sheet metal construction; installation or repair of refrigerant lines; installation and recycling of CFC or HCFC refrigerants; installation or repair of electrical connections to HVAC components; With higher level support, assist with and maintain, repair, replace, and preventatively maintain HVAC equipment, refrigeration equipment, and cold room...
