Cost and Capital Accountant

Core Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Purpose and Scope: Performs a broad range of accounting responsibilities with a primary focus on cost accounting, inventory valuation, and capital asset accounting within a manufacturing environment. This role supports general accounting and financial close activities while providing analysis on production costs, inventory trends, and capital spending to ensure accurate financial reporting and support operational decision-making. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Capital / Fixed Asset Accounting: - Maintain fixed asset subledger, including asset additions, disposals, reconciliations, and tagging. - Prepare and record depreciation and amortization entries in accordance with company policy. - Review capital purchase requests and invoices for proper capitalization and coding. - Coordinate and support periodic physical inventory of fixed assets. - Prepare property tax filings and supporting schedules. - Record lease accounting transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards. - Support maintenance of documentation and internal controls related to fixed asset and capital processes. - Serve as a liaison between Accounting, O...
