Job description

Performs a variety of moderately complex tasks related to supporting college students who are low-income, first generation and students with disabilities. The Academic Coordinator/Counselor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of functions that may include student advising, assessment, intervention strategies, transfer, retention, disability services, community outreach and student activities. LOCATION: Gary with some travel to other campus locations in East Chicago and Crown Point. Some regional or statewide travel may be required. PAY RANGE: $40,000 - 45,000 per year MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists TRIO Director in the selection, utilization and evaluation of standardized diagnostic, placement career and achievement assessment, evaluate student progress and make modifications to student goals for success. Coordinates the academic support to students by working with director to develop individualized plans and by providing direction for academic skill development.
