Mechanical Engineer

Job description

Cohu is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to design and develop precision electro-mechanical systems for semiconductor automated test equipment platforms, with a strong focus on mechanical integration of PCBs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in precision mechanical assemblies, PCB support structures, and system-level design, supporting products from concept through production. Key Responsibilities: - Lead mechanical design for PCB assemblies, including component mounting, board support structures, thermal management, and integration within test equipment. - Design precision electro-mechanical systems such as motion mechanisms, structural components, and enclosures. - Develop 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, tolerance analyses, and BOMs for mechanical and PCB components. - Support system integration, verification, and qualification testing during new product development. - Perform structural and thermal analysis using FEA and CFD tools, including thermal validation for PCB assemblies. - Investigate failures and implement corrective design actions. - Support mechanical integration of semiconductor test cells, including tester interfaces, device handlers, and...
