EEG Technician I, Full-Time, 12 Hour Flex, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit UC Health is hiring a full-time EEG Technician I for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for the 12 Hour Flex shift at UC Medical Center. The EEG Technologist I is an individual educated in electroneurodiagnostic (END) procedures (EEG, cvEEG, EMU, Evoked Potentials etc.) and monitoring. This person responds to patients having seizures in the EMU. S/he initiates seizure safety measures and alerts other members of the team (MD, RN and PCA) as needed. This person provides education regarding END procedures and epilepsy to the respective care team as well as patients and their family. Technologist can perform all necessary procedures independently. PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY): - Engages in population appropriate communication. - Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. - Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. - Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. - Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. - Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavi...
