Job Summary: The Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for evaluating clients' hearing needs, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, providing follow-up care, and offering education on the use and maintenance of hearing devices. The specialist works closely with audiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients with hearing loss. Key Responsibilities: Client Assessment and Evaluation: - Conduct thorough hearing evaluations to determine the type and degree of hearing loss. - Review clients' medical histories and hearing-related concerns. - Collaborate with audiologists or physicians to interpret audiometric data and make recommendations. Hearing Aid Fitting and Adjustment: - Select and fit appropriate hearing aids or other auditory devices based on clients’ needs and preferences. - Adjust and fine-tune hearing aids to ensure optimal performance and comfort. - Provide instruction on how to use and care for hearing aids.
