Material Handler - Barge Unloading Crew

Job description

A Material Handler focuses on unloading barges in a safe efficient manner. Material Handlers are responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment and basic maintenance and troubleshooting. QUALIFICATIONS: - Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. - Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. - Unloading aggregates from barges. - Competent to draft out and prep barges, general deckhand knowledge (knot tying) to properly secure barge and unloading cells. - Attendance required according to Company Attendance Policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level - Attitude/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional manner with co-workers. - Must be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes - Overtime work required.
