Department Overview This position requires a PhD in Developmental Biology, Gametogenesis and Preimplantation Embryo Development, Pluripotent Stem Cell Biology, Meiosis, or a closely related field. The successful candidate will conduct research focused on in vitro gametogenesis and the induction of haploidy in gametes derived from somatic cells. The work will involve advanced gamete and embryo manipulation techniques combined with genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, genome editing, sequencing, and bioinformatics approaches in support of the mission and strategic initiatives of the OHSU Center for Embryonic Cell and Gene Therapy (CECGT). Function/Duties of Position: The candidate will design and execute independent, hands-on experiments; maintain rigorous laboratory documentation; collect, organize, analyze, and interpret complex datasets; and prepare manuscripts for publication. Additional responsibilities include presenting findings at seminars and scientific conferences, developing experimental protocols, contributing to grant applications and progress reports, and preparing technical reports.
