Job description

Interventional Radiology Technologist is accountable to the Radiology Lead Technologist, Assistant Manager, and Manager. Responsible for operation of the hybrid fluoroscopy Radiologic equipment along with general radiologic equipment. Operates equipment, performing a variety of procedures on pediatric patients applying prescribed ionizing radiation for the sole purpose of producing diagnostic quality images. Responsible for coverage at off-site locations as needed. Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures at a level that does not require constant supervision of technical detail. The technologist has a constant awareness of infection control standards, the importance of sterility and an acute awareness of patient care protocols. Operates under the supervision of a physician. Performs all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards, protocols and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut. 2.
