Job description

This position works in the FM electric Shop as a mechanical specialist and performs defined responsibilities and tasks related to maintaining the operations of assigned mechanical systems and life safety. Mechanical Specialists in the electric shop are dedicated to performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and installing and inspecting systems. They respond to emergent work, make repairs during power outages, respond to service calls and call backs, maintain generators, fire alarms, emergency lights, fire extinguishers, fire suppression, etc. They maintain all campus life safety systems. Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This position pays $25.56/hour. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs skilled work in assigned department operations and maintenance, which includes inspecting, installing, and troubleshooting life safety systems.
