As a Patient Care Associate/Nursing Assistant, you will find your purpose providing an array of medical services designed to keep adults feeling well and in control of their health! Under the supervision of the RN, the PCA performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with the established methods and procedures of the hospital and will perform receptionist secretarial support duties while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Summary: - Critical monitoring, like vital signs and glucose checks – so we can better assess their health - Transport them to appointments and procedures – to get them the right care at the right time - Interact with them to promote comfort, and express compassion and empathy as they heal - Walking – It’s one of the most important things we can do for them- and you get to help them do it safely - Assist with ADLs (activities of daily living) – these are things we often take for granted that patients may be unable to, or need help doing, themselves.
