Description The Department of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in experimental and/or theoretical chemistry at the rank of assistant professor or higher depending on qualifications. We seek applications from researchers in a broad range of disciplines within chemical sciences and have a particular interest in those who are pursuing new approaches, including the use of automation in the design, synthesis, and/or characterization of molecules and materials. Research in broadly defined areas including human health, (bio)chemical catalysis, clean energy, and environmental monitoring and remediation would be an excellent fit to the current themes in the department and the college. Carnegie Mellon offers a highly interdisciplinary environment combined with an exciting new focus on modern data-driven/automated approaches.
