Description The Department of English at the University of New Haven invites applications for a non-tenure-track full-time Instructor to serve as the Director of First-Year Writing and teach writing courses in the English department. The First-Year Writing Program is one of the university’s points of pride and has seen many successes in recent years. The program has been celebrated for its teaching excellence, genuine assessment practices, and pedagogical innovation. We are seeking an enthusiastic person to lead the program to continued excellence. The First-Year Writing Program is part of an English Department that also houses a Writing Across the Curriculum Program, a Peer Tutoring Writing Center, majors in Writing and Literature, and minors in Creative Writing and Professional Writing. The Director of First-Year Writing is supported by a Writing Programs Coordinator. All of the full-time faculty in the department teach First-Year Writing courses.
