Job description

Performs diagnostic medical procedures producing diagnostic medical radiographs. Reports to the charge radiographers. Performs radiographic examinations using C-arms, portable and stationary radiographic imaging equipment. Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Maintains clean and orderly work areas. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, Inservice meetings and workshops.
