Fleet Mechanic

Job description

Thompson First Group is seeking Fleet Mechanics for direct hire roles with a local client in Candor, NC. Candidates that have experience as a Fleet or Diesel Mechanic working on tractor trailers and reefers are encouraged to apply. Primary Purpose: Primary purpose involves not only routine maintenance and repairs but also basic diagnostics, implementing preventive measures and providing guidance and support for other mechanics. They play a key role in optimizing the overall performance and longevity of the fleet. Major Duties & Responsibilities: - Performs basic and intermediate inspections and preventative maintenance. Moves equipment as needed. - Performs basic diagnostics, intermediate repairs and advanced maintenance under supervision. - Provides guidance and assistance to Fleet Mechanics - Shop clean-up and organization. - Utilizes Fleet Maintenance, Telematics and/or diagnostic software system program(s).
