Classification Title: Lecturer Classification Minimum Requirements: Candidates must hold a PhD in linguistics, completed by August 15, 2026 and have experience teaching undergraduate Linguistics courses Ability to teach and develop a variety of general linguistics courses. Job Description: The University of Florida invites applications for an instructional faculty member in general linguistics at the rank of Lecturer, beginning August 16, 2026. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing position, annually renewable and eligible for promotion. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and teaching of general linguistics courses which may include introductory linguistics, phonology, syntax, morphology, and other general linguistics courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. It may also include developing new or existing courses to be offered in person or online. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester, work with the undergraduate coordinator and other faculty to further strengthen and grow the program in linguistics, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.
