Job Description The Life Cycle Engineering Department supports the design, construction and test of in-service Navy DDG 51 and DDG 1000 surface combatants in multiple locations around the world. Our Functional Engineering group is seeking an entry level Hull/Structure Engineer to join our team. This role supports structural analysis of design modifications for ship alterations required for modernization of the DDG 51 and 1000 classes. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the Hull/Structure Engineer I ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones. Key Responsibilities: Safety Leadership: - Take personal responsibility for your own safety through hazard identification and mitigation. - Ensure practices/processes are safely executed. - Communicate safety concerns and model safe behaviors.
