SUMMARY: The Pediatric Ophthalmologist is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of serious eye conditions including but not limited to conjunctivitis, corneal disease, ocular disease, ROP, strabismus, oculoplastics, glaucoma and cataracts; vision problems such as nearsightedness; and eye injuries. Pediatric Ophthalmologist will work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide the high quality care to include providing evaluation and treatment plan specific to the needs of each patient. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assess, diagnose, and treat specific eye conditions in infants, children and adolescents in outpatient and inpatient settings. - Perform eye surgery and prescribe and fit eyeglasses. - Analyze results from all tests conducted and share results with patient and family. - Make high-level judgements due to the complexities of ophthalmic conditions. - Document assessment findings, treatment recommendations and plan for continuing care in the clinical record. - Collaborate with physicians, clinical support staff, and administrative staff in meeting patient and family needs. - Provide health promotion, education to patient/families related to medication, diagnosis and caring fo...
