Department OPS Facilities Campus Trades Shop About the Department: Facilities Services supports the mission of the University of Chicago through efforts to maintain and enhance the University campus and environment and provide superior client service to our community including faculty, students, staff, neighbors and visitors. Job Information: Job Summary: Installs repairs and services mechanical, electrical and computerized locking devices. Performs work in accordance with University standards and procedures for University buildings and properties . Responsibilities: - Reads and works from blueprints, drawings, or other instructions. - Plans assigned job, identifies materials and either installs or maintains related equipment. - Repairs door locks, padlocks, safe locks, and cabinet locks. - Disassembles and reassembles locks to replace worn parts as needed. - Master key lock systems for institutional use. - Maintains records of company locks and keys. - Installs and maintains electronic and computerized locking systems. - Duplicates keys. - Inspects and trouble shoots building lock systems. - Use and maintain power tools. - Help introduce new employees to shop protocol, procedures...
