Job description

To perform and/or assist with all imaging functions and procedures in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, following departmental guidelines and manual, as well as rules and regulations of the Hospital Center and appropriate outside agencies. Requirements: - Performs imaging and non-imaging Nuclear Medicine procedures. - Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and the patients’ needs - Assists, prepares and positions patients as required to perform radiological procedures - Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures by informing the patient of the nature of the procedure, the area to be imaged and any specific instructions the patient may need - Ensures all radiographic images are appropriately labeled as specified by the department SOP - Monitors and assays shipments of radioactive materials. - Checks in unit doses and distributes to appropriate locations. - Prepares radiopharmaceuticals stock and measures patient doses thereof, following and performing all quality control guidelines and procedures. - Calibrates all instruments daily, and imaging processing as needed. - Ens...
