Position Summary: Assists the Administrator by assuming and delegating responsibility for specific functions. Is responsible for resident care and personnel management of the unit. Services to be provided for residents over 16 years of age regardless of age, race, religion, and cultural background. Majority of services provided for elderly. Education, License & Cert: BSN or Master’s degree preferred. Pennsylvania RN License required. Experience: Three years of nursing experience, acute care plus one year long term care preferred. Experience in management position preferred. Maintains CPR certification. Follows universal precautions and utilizes proper body mechanics. Keeps up to date in the field of nursing, especially geriatrics. Essential Functions: Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment. Assists in the orientation of new personnel. Conducts performance evaluations. Resolves scheduling/staffing problems. Assists administrator in recommending new policies, procedures, and equipment.
