Job description

The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) functions under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Social Worker and/or Registered Nurse to provide direct care for selected patients. The MHS is expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of contemporary psychosocial principles in relation to their area of responsibility while implementing the delegated tasks of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan of Care. Following orientation and defined training programs, satisfactorily performs skills as defined by departmental policy and orientation procedure.
