About the role Mater Language Services currently has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Mandarin Interpreter to join the team in a maximum-term (6-month), full-time position. In this role, you will deliver professional interpreting services across on-site, telephone and telehealth settings, supporting communication in Mandarin. You will hold current accreditation with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) and play a key role in facilitating clear, accurate communication between patients, their families, and Mater staff. As part of the Language Services team, you will act as an important cultural liaison, helping to ensure patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds can access safe, high-quality and compassionate healthcare. This role requires a high level of cultural awareness, sensitivity, and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by diverse communities when navigating healthcare services.
