Job description

The Mental Health Tech establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients and helps patients with daily living. Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment. Takes vital signs, weighs patients and collects routine specimens. Relies on establish guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent - Patient Care - Assists patient with activities of daily living, toileting, feeding, and grooming. - Make beds and clean rooms as necessary. - Takes and records patient vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and respirations under the supervision of a nurse. - Assists with the admission process as directed. - Provide assisting in group setting as necessary under the direction of a nurse or therapist. - Assists in moving patients from place to place on and off the unit or area where assigned. - Assists with laundering of clothes as necessary or directed. - Redirects patients and uses proper technique to prevent patient aggression, falls or injury. - Retrieves medications from the pneumatic tube system and/or pharmacy and delivers the medications to the nurse and/or place medicatio...
