Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for preparing and dispensing medications for patients within the Hospital. Provides those other services which may be required as part of the daily operating activities of the Pharmacy Department; compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies, using standard physical and clinical procedures to fill written prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, and other qualified prescribers. Education, License & Cert: Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy. License Current License as pharmacist in NYS and preferably PA. Experience: Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred but not required. Essential Functions: 1. Dispenses medications per established department procedures. 2. Extemporaneous preparation of medications. 3. Compiles and disseminates drug information; provides information to physicians and other staff members on availability of new drugs, warnings on currently marketed drugs, incompatibility of certain drugs, and contraindications of drugs and other pharmaceuticals. 4.
