Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: Associate must perform all safety checks at the start of shift on all cranes and tools and document this as necessary. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift. • Hydrostatically tests tanks by plugging openings and filling each tank with water or air pressure. • Properly, and safely operates hydro test, and pneumatic testing equipment. • Visually inspects tank’s fitting and brackets for proper welds. Records required tank information on hydro data sheet using the weld inspection report. • Chips slag and welding from around fittings and brackets when tank is being filled. Notifies foreman or lead when materials are at the re-ordering point. • Maintain testing equipment, and monitor the condition of testing equipment, to ensure it is in safe operating condition on a daily basis. • Maintain all appropriate paperwork relating to testing practice. • Assures that the pressure is removed before any plugs or the pressurecoupling is removed from a vessel. Failure to do so can result in serious injury. • Observes gauge for loss of pressure indicative of leaks, and examines object for escaping air to detect leaks. • Marks object at source of leaks for subseque...
