Job Description Summary The Program Manager - Safety and Health Regulatory Compliance develops, manages, and implements UMD health and safety programs in alignment with legal and institutional requirements. The primary responsibility of the position is to lead innovative workplace safety and health initiatives in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, relevant industry standards and university policies. The Program Manager must promptly investigate and develop corrective measures for the UMD community to manage high-risk and time-sensitive projects that are developed across campus. The Program Manager coordinates with UMD project and departmental leadership to identify needs, set goals, and develop action plans that drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), the position is responsible for proactive leading indicators including safety inspections, safety committee oversight, and incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action development, and lessons- learned communication.
