Location: East Chicago, IN Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a dynamic Paramedic at our East Chicago, Indiana location. The Paramedic will act as a medium between our medical, fire, and safety departments. The ideal candidate is a certified Paramedic that assists other departments in executing additional safety tasks. The role will be part of our United Steelworkers (USW) union compensation, benefits, and pension agreement. Summary of Responsibilities: Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards. Provide medical transportation internally and externally for employees of the plant. Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform a preliminary diagnosis. Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of basic or advanced treatments. Perform security patrols and checks, traffic control, and maintenance of safety equipment. Perform preventative maintenance such as conducting fire extinguishers maintenance/exchanges to include hydro testing, annuals, and recharging. Run various reports and communicate to leadership.
