WHO WE ARE: The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our members provide electricity for more than 250 million Americans and operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. As a whole, the electric power industry supports more than 7 million jobs in communities across the United States. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER: Our Reliability department has a dynamic opening for a Senior Principal Engineer. The incumbent will provide technical leadership on electric power industry reliability planning and operations issues, including those matters related to the development of mandatory reliability standards by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), as regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. - Provide subject matter expertise to EEI and its members related to transmission and distribution questions. - Plan, organize, and lead technical discussions with EEI’s Reliability Technical Committee.
