About the Role: The Athletic is accepting applications for its Leon H. Carter newsroom internship for the fall of 2026. The NHL intern will play a key role in the hockey department, writing and reporting on stories across the league’s 32 teams. This is a 12-week program running from September to December 2026. The intern will be embedded within the NHL department’s News, Enterprise and Trending team, which will expose the intern to quick-turn assignments as well as deep-dive projects exploring some of the most compelling storylines in hockey.
