Job description

Description The Lifeguard at Petro Pool, under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Director, creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe swimming conditions in the pool and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The Community Pool is open from June 22nd to August 16th. Hours are Monday through Sunday, 11:00am-5:00pm (subject to change with extra programming). A regular schedule will be provided. Must be available to work at least 3 shifts per week to be eligible for employment. Qualifications: - Maintains constant surveillance of the swim area by sustaining a sit, stand, and stroll pattern in order to remain vigilant throughout their shift while on duty. - Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area - Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergencies immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
