BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Assists and performs nursing functions under the supervision of a Nursing Supervisor. All functions performed are within the limits of the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act and nursing policies and procedures. REPORTS TO: - Nurse Manager JOB REQUIREMENTS: Supervisory Responsibilities: NO: Minimum Education: Associate's Degree required: Degree: Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing required License/Certification Required: Licensed Practical Nurse in State of Tennessee Minimum Work Experience: 1-year pediatric experience preferred REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Strong assessment and critical thinking skills - Skills as outlined in the LPN orientation checklist - Effective communication skills DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conducts a thorough health assessment of patients and record information accurately. Reports unusual data to nursing supervisor or provider in a timely manner. - Assesses and identifies patient symptoms and problems.
