Mechanic Helper will assist the Fleet Technician in making repairs and performing preventative maintenance inspections on Division vehicles and equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the Fleet Technicians perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil change, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks. Help Fleet Technicians with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and lights. May assist in performing body work on automobiles and trucks, holding heavy material; unloading supplies and equipment; removing and replacing truck bodies; filling paint pots and checking out tools, materials and supplies; sand, mask, blow-off and prepare equipment for painting, clean paint booths and various objects and paint as needed.
