Central Expressway Suite 120, Dallas, TX 75231 - Dallas, TX 75231The Histology Technician is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination; helping maintain laboratory equipment; training in the use of new laboratory equipment; performing routine histology procedures; preparing solutions required for any histological examination; plus, all related job duties as assigned. Slide Preparation: Cuts tissue: Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling. Maintain the integrity of the specimen and patient identification. Demonstrates the ability to accurately prioritize and triage specimens, handles and disposes of specimens and chemical waste based on the laboratory’s procedure manual, and ensures compliance with regulatory policies Prepares and maintains reagents and equipment Maintains procedures and records to meet all regulatory standards The Histology Technician is responsible for solving numerous problems that include: Patient’s specimen and requisition are received in the lab, but no orders are in the lab LIS system.
