Job description
Preferred: - High School Diploma or Equivalent - Minimum of five years’ experience in the mining industry. - Minimum of five years’ experience supervising others. - Basic knowledge of chemistry, geology and equipment operation. - Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations including environmental and mining. - Degree in Geology, Engineering or mining related technical college. What you will do: Fulfills the need for rock containing the required chemical properties in a safe manner to support the manufacturing of the product and maintain customer satisfaction. Main Responsibilities: - Produces needed quantities of quality limestone and other raw materials to support the plant and production of cement. - Manage the preparation of quarry ground conditions to extract the needed rock including removal of overburden, exploration and reclamation. - Evaluates the chemistry of rock to make sure unwanted contaminants such as clay, shale, magnesium and sandstone do not degrade the quality of the material, using proven methods of contaminant identification. - Maintains safe quarry working environment including road conditions, berm height, highwall inspection, barricading when...
