Union Position: No Department Details: Summary: Receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine and special examinations. Performs complex histological procedures using techniques to gross, embed, perform microtomy, and stain to make tissue slides used for diagnosis. Job Description: Responsible to review slide quality. Maintains and repairs lab instruments. Disinfects work area and stocks supplies. Ensures all lab safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. Will work with self-discipline and good judgment while following established standards of practice. Must utilize critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem solving.
