Overview The Test Equipment Development group provides engineering support for the test programs supporting non-nuclear ships systems (mechanical and fluids) and portions of the steam plant systems. This group provides support for VIRGINIA Class submarine new construction (including VIRGINIA Payload Module (VPM) & Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW)) and all overhaul and repair projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: The ideal candidate is one who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, welcomes constant interaction with the trades, and is eager to provide deck plate support and learn more about the submarines they are building. - Work with design and materials group to develop (or revise existing) engineered drawings that meet test procedure or ship’s system requirements. Drawing development may require interface with system engineers, EB trades, vendors, purchasing, program office, and ship’s management. - Design and/or aid in the procurement of temporary support systems to provide temporary services to ship’s systems. - Perform engineering calculations involving pressure, flow, and stress analysis for various temporary fluid systems and fixture...
