GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, perform a wide variety of custodial maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment in public buildings. Performs cleaning, housekeeping, and light maintenance of assigned space. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position exercises no supervision over other employees. IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Sweep and mop floors; vacuum: Dust and clean offices and other work areas Collect and remove waste: Clean & restock restrooms: Strip and wax floors: Move or lift furniture, boxes, and other materials Open and close the facility for use and secure the facility for closing. Operate carpet extractor machine and buffers to polish floors OTHER JOB RELATED DUTIES: Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of: Tools, chemicals, materials, methods, and best practices used in custodial operations. Occupational hazards and safety precautions of custodial operations. Proper use and care of a variety of tools, materials, and equipment common to custodial operations.
